Tenley Force Portraits 2021-02-12--7.jpg

Hi. I’m Tenley.

I am a writer, disaster response nurse, and seminary student, born and raised in Southern California.

It is my passion to explore what it means to truly be human under the pressures of time, death, and inadequacy, in order to better equip others to live holistically healthy lives. In addition to serving as a disaster response nurse, I have practiced in a variety of settings including; medical-surgical respiratory, emergency (briefly), COVID response, school nursing at the university level, and, perhaps most surprisingly, as an adjunct nursing clinical instructor.

I am humbled and honored that you are reading my bio. For those of you who choose to read my book New: Nursing and the Art of Being Human, as far as I am concerned, you are family. You are not alone on your journey. Let’s live life together.

With love,

Tenley RN, BSN, MA

P.S. New would not have been possible without the fifty nurses who shared their lives and stories with me. When I first started writing this book I was scared and lost, but because of them I was able to find my way again. Thank you my dearest friends. You didn’t just build me up as a nurse, you built me up as a person. I hope that the stories you shared will continue to encourage new nurses for years to come.
